As a deep music lover, I really poured myself into the energetic vibes of this project. Splice allowed for wide creative freedom, and their goal was to create a platform that seamlessly integrates into the creative processes of musicians and producers. At Instrument, we were able to design an intuitive and visually engaging experience that caters to both novice and experienced users. The blend of sleek design and user-centric functionality ensures that Splice stands out as a tool that not only supports but also enhances the creative journey. This project highlights the importance of merging aesthetic appeal with practical usability, ultimately fostering an environment where creativity can thrive uninhibited.

Splice was adamant about distinguishing itself from others in the industry. We focused on crafting a unique brand personality that matched the global culture and vibrant energy of contemporary music creation.

This involved developing a dynamic visual and verbal system that conveyed the brand's new direction at every touchpoint. We positioned Splice as bold, rebellious risk-takers who defy convention and embrace everyone, regardless of their identity or musical style.
To enhance the expressive nature of Splice’s brand personality, we created a flexible design system adaptable to any type of content—from social media campaigns and product features to sample packs and merchandise, and beyond.
This system includes a robust icon set inspired by the original logo, a custom variable typeface, a dynamic palette of vibrant colors, and a distinctive photography treatment that mimics the rhythm and flow of music. Our graphic language is as versatile as the diverse and expanding community of musicians and creators using the platform.
Collaborating closely with the Splice teams, we developed a comprehensive brand book encompassing the brand's foundations, design and messaging systems, photography guidelines, and numerous practical examples of the brand in action.

Equipped with this toolkit, Splice refined their company perspective and achieved clarity across various aspects of the platform. This consistency in brand, marketing, and product communication now allows Splice to effectively engage and inspire emerging musical creators worldwide, encouraging them to pursue their passion.
